Patient Reassurance

Can I trust the hearing-aid advice I'm being given?

These are reasonable questions.

When someone is advising you on both what you need and what you should spend, you should feel confident that the recommendation is being made with your hearing needs and wellbeing in mind.

That is why Clarisound audiologists are non-sales-commissioned.

They do not personally earn more because you buy a hearing aid, choose a more expensive model or decide to purchase that day.

And a free hearing assessment does not create an obligation to buy.

So you can focus on understanding your hearing and your options, confident that the advice you receive is focused on what is right for you.

Because healthcare decisions should never feel like sales conversations.

Our Philosophy

Better hearing is good for our customers. And good for our business.

We want our audiologists focused on helping customers hear better, not on selling the most expensive hearing aids.

That’s why they don’t work on personal sales commission.

But this isn’t because we believe good hearing care and commercial success are somehow incompatible. We believe the opposite.

Clarisound is in the business of providing high-quality hearing care. And we believe the most sustainable way to build that business is straightforward: take good care of our customers.

Recommend appropriately. Fit hearing aids well. Help customers get the best from them. Be there when something isn’t right. And earn the trust that brings customers back as their hearing needs change.

That approach may not maximise every individual transaction.

It is intended to build something more valuable: better hearing outcomes, long-term relationships and continued trust.

For us, customer care and commercial success aren’t competing interests. We believe one should come from the other.

Practical Integrity

Sometimes good advice doesn't lead to a sale

This is where our non-sales-commissioned model becomes practical.

And sometimes the appropriate next step isn’t a hearing aid at all. If we identify something that requires medical assessment, we’ll recommend that you see an ENT specialist.

Good advice doesn’t have to end in a sale.

It should leave you feeling informed, confident and reassured that the recommendation you received was guided by your hearing needs, your circumstances and your wellbeing — not by what you could be persuaded to buy.

That is the kind of trust we want every Clarisound consultation to earn.

The Clinical Difference

What changes when your audiologist doesn't earn sales commission?

It gives the conversation room to begin with your hearing rather than a product.

Your audiologist first needs to understand what you are hearing, where you are struggling and what you would like to improve.

Only then does it make sense to discuss whether hearing aids are appropriate and, if they are, what level of technology may suit your needs.

You should be able to discuss different options and prices without wondering whether your audiologist benefits financially from your choice.

And if you want time to think, discuss the recommendation with your family or seek another opinion, you should feel entirely comfortable doing so.

Removing personal sales commission removes one potential financial influence from the recommendation.

We believe that distinction matters.

Trust is earned over time

The real test of trust isn’t the first consultation. It’s whether a customer still wants your advice years later.

Antony Barragry has been a Clarisound customer for more than ten years and keeps up closely with developments in hearing-aid technology.

What he values isn’t simply access to that technology, but how Clarisound has helped him select, fit and manage hearing aids around his needs:

“Clarisound has taken care of my hearing aid requirements, supplying and fitting the best to match my needs.”

— Antony Barragry, Clarisound customer for more than 10 years

He also describes the ongoing professional advice, regular checks, maintenance and adjustments he has received as his hearing needs have changed.

For us, a relationship like this says more about trust than simply claiming to be trustworthy.

Trust is something we hope to earn through the quality of the advice and care we provide — and continue earning over time.

Your first consultation: understand first, decide afterwards

Your first hearing assessment and consultation are free.

That does not create an obligation to purchase anything.

Your audiologist will assess your hearing, explain the results and take time to understand the situations in which hearing is affecting you.

If hearing aids are appropriate, we’ll explain the options, including what different levels of technology may — or may not — offer for your needs, preferences and budget.

If you have questions, ask them. If you need time, take it.

If you want to discuss the recommendation with your family, compare your options or seek another opinion, you are entirely free to do so.

And if you decide to proceed, choosing the hearing aid is only part of the process. At Clarisound, it becomes part of a wider approach to hearing rehabilitation that includes expert fitting and verification followed by Proactive Aftercare.

Frequent Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What does “non-sales-commissioned audiologist” mean?

closed_arrow

At Clarisound, it means our audiologists do not personally receive sales commission based on the hearing aids you purchase. Their personal income does not increase because you select a more expensive hearing aid — or because you purchase hearing aids at all.

Does a free hearing test mean I am expected to buy hearing aids?

closed_arrow

No. The purpose of the hearing assessment is first to understand your hearing. If hearing aids are appropriate, your audiologist can explain the available options. You are under no obligation to purchase and do not need to make a decision during the consultation.

Will Clarisound always recommend hearing aids if I have hearing loss?

closed_arrow

No. Whether hearing aids are appropriate depends on your hearing assessment, the nature and degree of your hearing difficulty and how it is affecting you. If hearing aids aren't appropriate at this stage, we will tell you. If something requires medical assessment, we may recommend that you see an ENT specialist instead.

Does non-sales-commissioned mean Clarisound will always recommend cheaper hearing aids?

closed_arrow

No. The objective isn't to recommend the cheapest hearing aid or the most expensive one. It is to recommend technology appropriate to your hearing needs, listening environments, preferences and budget. For some customers, advanced features provide meaningful benefits. For others, a simpler level of technology may be entirely appropriate.

Can I take time to decide whether to buy hearing aids?

closed_arrow

Yes. There is no obligation to buy hearing aids after your Clarisound hearing assessment or consultation. You can take time to consider the recommendation, discuss it with your family, compare your options or seek another opinion before deciding.
