What happens after you start wearing hearing aids can be just as important to successful hearing rehabilitation.
Hearing aids are used in real life, not in a quiet fitting room. Your hearing may change. Your listening environments may change. Devices need maintenance. And settings that seemed right initially may need refinement once you have lived with them.
At Clarisound, we stay involved.
Our Proactive Aftercare approach means we contact customers for regular reviews rather than waiting until a problem becomes frustrating enough for them to call us.
Because successful hearing rehabilitation is not simply about how well your hearing aids work on day one. It is about helping them continue to work well for you over time.
Small problems are easy to adapt around.
A hearing aid becomes slightly quieter. A wax guard clogs. A listening environment becomes harder. A customer’s hearing changes gradually. Because the change is not dramatic, it can be easy to put up with it — or simply wear the hearing aids less.
Regular follow-up gives us the opportunity to identify those changes, check device performance and hear what has been happening in everyday life.
We would rather address a small change early than wait until it becomes a reason to stop wearing the hearing aids.
The appointment is not simply a cleaning service.
Depending on what you need, your audiologist may:
The purpose is to keep the technology aligned with the person using it
Long-term support is easy to promise. What matters is what it looks like once the first excitement of new hearing aids has passed.
The early months are when real-life listening gives us the most useful feedback.
You may discover that a restaurant is still difficult, your own voice feels unfamiliar or one particular person’s speech remains hard to follow. Follow-up allows us to refine the fitting around what you are actually experiencing, while checking that the devices are performing as intended.
This is also when confidence with handling, charging, cleaning, connectivity and daily use becomes important.
Hearing rarely stands still indefinitely. Neither does life.
By this point, your listening environments, work, family routines or hearing itself may be different. A review helps us determine whether an adjustment, maintenance or reprogramming can keep your existing hearing aids working well for you.
A change in hearing does not automatically mean a change of hearing aids.
Eventually every hearing aid reaches a point where repair, continued use and replacement need to be weighed sensibly.
That conversation should be based on device condition, changes in your hearing, the benefit you are still receiving and whether newer technology would offer something meaningfully useful for you.
Sometimes continuing with the existing hearing aids is entirely reasonable. Sometimes repair is worthwhile. And sometimes replacement makes sense.
Our role is to help you understand which of those options is appropriate — not assume that newer must always be better.
You do not necessarily have to have bought your hearing aids from Clarisound for us to help.
In many cases, depending on the brand, model and programming compatibility, our team can assess, troubleshoot, service or adjust hearing aids purchased elsewhere.
Emily Lee came to Clarisound because her father’s hearing aids, bought from another provider, were not working properly and the family did not know where to turn.
Clarisound’s team investigated the problem, explained what had happened and restored the hearing aids to working condition.
“Thanks Kieran and team for your care and help in resolving this issue for us and welcomed us even when we didn’t buy the hearing aid from Clarisound.”
— Emily Lee
For us, helping someone hear better is the starting point — even when the hearing aids did not come from us.
Compatibility varies, so please contact your nearest hearing care centre before travelling and we will confirm whether we can support your devices.
Proactive Aftercare is one of the Clarisound Four Pillars of Hearing Rehabilitation because the value of assessment, technology and fitting should not disappear once you leave the hearing care centre.
The relationship gives us continuity: a history of your hearing, your devices, the adjustments that have worked and the listening situations that matter to you.
We don’t want to meet you only when something has gone wrong. We want to help keep things right.
A good fitting gives you a strong start.
Proactive Aftercare helps keep the care responsive as your hearing, devices and life evolve.
We will be there to check, listen, adjust and advise — so that small changes do not quietly become barriers to wearing and benefiting from your hearing aids.
Because hearing rehabilitation is not a one-time fitting. It is care that continues.
